draconian voting restrictions. texas just advanced a bill that among other things would make it a felony, you heard that right, a felony for an official to give a voter an absentee ballot application if they didn t request one. as of march 24th they ve introduced 360 voter restriction bills in 47 states. in many states these restrictions will specifically be hard on black voters. look, i want to make this clear. this is not just in response to the 2020 election and the big lie. the voting rights of black americans have been under attack since the 15th amendment was passed, even if lawmakers don t explicitly spell it out, we see you. jamel boulie of the new york times wrote this about the jim crow era. there was no statute that said black people cannot vote. instead, southern lawmakers spun a web of restrictions and regulations meant to catch most blacks as well as many whites and keep them out of the electorate. and in a throwback to that time a writer for the conserv ....
look, there is a little bit of controversy in some of the states also about how they re allowing people to get it or not, but it is a point of frustration. so i m with you. the bigger problem for me is, what do you get for getting the vaccine other than the personal satisfaction of knowing that you re way, way better off personally? shouldn t that already be in place, like, these places can open up, but you can open up this much more with vaccinated people? right, or if you have health care, like what i got from my health care person or agency or whatever you want to call it, is that when it s you re turn, we will let you know. i m just patiently waiting, but i m wondering, as i talk to friends who live in other states and they re my age or younger and healthy and in the gym every day, i m like, how did you get the vaccine? i don t really get it. we don t have a national plan. one of the things i d like to see one of my to-be in-laws, they re getting it this wee ....
