seeing him try to figure out how to body surf. and loving the water. he loved the water. when i see a pelican go by or i see some dolphins, i say, thank you, god. thank you, charlie. they re with us. it makes it a little bit better. the fact your story, charlie s story through you, is now saving lives, no question is, and honestly very possibly that can include my own children s lives with the work you re doing. what do you think charlie would think about all of this, about these beautiful agents of change that you have become? i think he would be very proud. and he would be hugging us. and he is hugging us. he knows that we re doing good work. on his behalf.
griff: this is todd piro goes surfing take one. this is the back. todd: i would like to say this was a plan oh we are going to make a funny gag. i literally put it on wrong. griff: it s going to be a long afternoon. whoever has ever met me or knows me knows surfing is my passion. it s a way of life for me. todd: i grew up in new jersey i have been coming i can body surf and boogie board but i can t real surf. griff: mark gill martin. summertime surf school. monday to sunday. today we had 40 kids ages 4 to 16. next generation of surfers trying to teach them about ocean awareness and safety. griff: with the kids you will apply some of the same things to todd that you would give anyone. 100 percent. the fundamental is the same. small guy tell it right there. lots of pressure is on my friend. setting the bar.

juan: paper. jesse: those poor trees. i m going to have to agree, we will eventually phase out plastic straws and here is why. they are that in the top ten most polluted items on the world s beaches. they clog up the streams and the waterways and the lakes and the rivers and the oceans because they are so thin they don t get collected up. so i want to body surf without straws and tan without straws and i know you do too. i want to eat the fish before they die. i want to kill the fish, but i think we can all agree on this that paper straws are better for the environment. and they don t disintegrate. how long does it take to set up an ice coffee? an hour?
at rand, i would put several volumes into my briefcase to take with me. walking past the security guards i could feel my heartheartbeati. i couldn t help but think of the dozen or so secrecy agreements i signed over the course of my career in the government. the task seemed endless. i often worked through the night. early in the morning i returned the papers to my safe at rand and headed home. i get back to my house on a little narrow beach in malibu, i loved to body surf and i would go in every morning before i went to bed, and i remember at some point during this being in the waves, in the sunlight and looking back at the hills of malibu and thinking, how can i be doing this? how can i be giving all this up?
