Wengender addressed the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce s Business After Hours event on Thursday.
Wengender founded Blue Sky, a biotech contract research company, in 2003. He said that the company was able to grow from two employees at launch to 45 by 2011. Blue Sky was purchased by California company LakePharma Inc. in 2016.
Wengender started home-brewing beer in 2006, and he started to develop his skills at brewing. He paired these skills with a passion for imperial beers with high alcohol by volume content. In 2010 Wengender started piloting a set of high-ABV drinks that formed the base for Greater Good s product line and pitch as the country s first all-imperial brewing company. Greater Good launched in 2016 and will celebrate its fifth anniversary next year.
