Irvine couple enjoy 65th Blue Sapphire wedding anniversary for Irvine couple David and Ruby McCabe will celebrate 65 years of wedded bliss this week. And while they can’t hold a party to mark their Blue Sapphire Anniversary, they will enjoy a day catching up with their three children, six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. The couple met when they were 17 and were soon married at St Nicolas Church in Glasgow. They then started their married life by moving to Irvine. Daughter Moira told the Irvine Times last week: “They are devoted to their family and although we are in a lockdown we will all be getting in touch to celebrate their special anniversary.”
