Soaring six months: Milan Bergamo Airport continues to hit new highs

Delivering double-digit growth rates last month, with a 14% increase in passenger traffic, Milan Bergamo continues to hit new highs. Some 5.8 million passengers have passed through Italy’s third largest airport in the first six months of 2017 – close to 600,000 more visitors than this time last year, an 11% year-on-year growth. The airport’s freight traffic has also seen a healthy increase of 7%, reaching almost 61,000 tonnes in the first half of the year.
Attributing the strong growth in part to its expanding airline portfolio, the Italian airport can now boast 14 serving airlines in S17 having recently witness the arrival of new partners Arkia Israeli Airlines, Ukraine International Airlines and Ernest. The ongoing development of its route network will mean that by the end of the summer Milan Bergamo will have added 14 new routes and resumed 11 seasonal links. With its two largest carriers,
