Puducherry Polls 2021: BJP releases list of 9 candidates
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday released a list of 9 candidates for the Puducherry Assembly elections 2021. On Sunday, the party had released a list of 27 and 36 candidates for the third and fourth phases of assembly elections in West Bengal.
Puducherry will go to the polls in a single phase on April 6. The counting of votes will take place on May 2.

Assembly Elections are to be held for 294 seats in West Bengal, 234 seats in Tamil Nadu, 140 seats in Kerala, 126 seats in Assam and 30 seats in Puducherry. The election in Puducherry will be held to elect 30 MLAs.

The BJP on Sunday announced its star-studded list of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Assam.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters, the party general secretary Arun Singh announced the names of candidates and said, in all the poll-bound states, the environment is in favour of the BJP.

NEW DELHI: The BJP on Saturday released its first list of 57 candidates for the upcoming West Bengal elections, pitting TMC rebel Suvendu Adhikari against chief minister Mamata Banerjee from the key Nandigram constituency.
On Friday, TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee had announced her candidature from Nandigram instead of her traditional Bhawanipore seat, in a move that was seen as an open challenge to her former aide Adhikari who was a sitting MLA from the constituency.
Welcoming Mamata s decision, Adhikari had told his supporters that he will see the chief minister in the battlefield and asserted that she would lose and leave on May 2, when the results will be declared.
