On Friday, TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee had announced her candidature from Nandigram instead of her traditional Bhawanipore seat, in a move that was seen as an open challenge to her former aide Adhikari who was a sitting MLA from the constituency. Welcoming Mamata s decision, Adhikari had told his supporters that he will see the chief minister in the battlefield and asserted that she would lose and leave on May 2, when the results will be declared.
