In Central Florida, Bishop John Noonan of the Diocese of Orlando released a statement mourning the former pope, calling him “a man with the eyes of faith in our triune God.” Noonan was appointed by Benedict as an auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Miami in June 2005.
