Sale of former Dooley's space approved

Rochester council votes 5-2 to OK a purchase agreement for $1.4 million sale to Powers Ventures. Written By: Randy Petersen | × The sale of a city-owned retail space in downtown Rochester was approved Monday night. The Rochester City Council voted 5-2 to approve a purchase agreement for the space at 255 First Ave. SW that once housed Dooley s Pub. The agreement calls for selling the space for $1.4 million to Powers Ventures, while the city maintains ownership of the rest of the building. “It will be different from anything we’ve ever done,” said Nick Powers, president of Powers Ventures. Powers has said the company wants to create a restaurant with a relaxed and casual family-friendly atmosphere in the heart of downtown, but added Monday that he wants to keep some of the plans under wraps.

Powers Ventures named as potential Dooley's buyer

Rochester City Council will be asked Monday for decision on potential sale of downtown restaurant space. Written By: Randy Petersen | × Dooley s Pub on First Avenue SW. (Ken Klotzbach / kklotzbach@postbulletin.com) The space that once housed Dooley’s Pub could become a new restaurant for Powers Ventures. The Rochester City Council will be asked Monday whether it wants to sell the space to the company for $1.4 million. The city had sought a new tenant for the leased space at 255 First Ave. SW after the lease with Dooley’s owner Tory Runkle ended earlier this year, but the effort failed to find someone willing to rent the space.
