Braxton Dykstra, five, was shot and killed by his six-year-old cousin after the pair found a gun in their grandparents bedroom on April 1 in Newaygo County, Michigan.
Braxton and a relative, a 6-year-old boy, found a gun inside their grandparents' bedroom. When the 6-year-old boy was holding the gun, it fired and hit Braxton.
In a press release, the incident occurred in the area of Patricia Street and Bingham Avenue at around 9:50pm when SPD received a report of a man acting erratic, "including attempting to jump out of a moving vehicle."
