Thirty-two winter walkers explored the Jones Forest on Feb. 17 as part of the Hike Beautiful Billerica program offered by the Billerica Recreation Department.
The event will be held Saturday, April 24, from 10 a.m. to noon, or residents can clean up on their own at their convenience.
This day is an effort that coincides with the week of Earth Day, which is Thursday, April 22. This effort would not be possible without the support of the Billerica Department of Public Works, Waste Management Company, the town of Billerica, Billerica Recreation, and of course the volunteers with Beautify Billerica, Leach said.
Leach said was excited to see the cleanup effort extend over the week with area companies TechnaAmerica NE and Cabot Corp. working on similar efforts.
