On Friday, May 3, SCSD#1 held ceremony honoring Retirees, Teachers and Staff in the auditorium at Tongue River High School. In his introduction, SCSD#1 Superintendent talked about the teachers and staff in the district.
Retirees honored were: Deb Blanchard - Big Horn Food Service Department;
Chadron State College student Reata Cook of Sheridan, Wyoming, competed in the Miss Rodeo America Pageant during the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas in December.
The Sheridan County School District 1 board is continuing to move toward approving new and updated policies on school-parent partnerships and controversial issues in classrooms.
The December 13 SCSD#1 board meeting was held virtually due to the winter snowstorm. The Slack school presentation, canceled due to weather, is planned for the February meeting.
Two parents attended the meeting via zoom. Parent Shawn Kelley talked about the proposed softball team, and felt there
Sheridan County School District #1, which serves students primarily in schools in Big Horn and the Tongue River Valley, has had to turn more out of district students away due to their own student numbers being on the rise. This coincides with the increase in population in Sheridan County over the past several years.
