CNTC, Lotha CSOs take up oil exploration, Naga issue

Dimapur, July 5 (EMN): Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) which had earlier called for resumption of oil exploration and extraction in Nagaland, held consultative meetings with various Lotha based organisations and discussed exploration of oil, foothill road and Naga solution. Media cell of CNTC in a press release stated that on June 29 last, it held a consultative meeting with Lotha Hoho at Wokha, followed by an interactive meeting with the Lotha Lower Range Public Organisation (LLRPO), Bhandari Town Council, Lower Lotha Elders and Officers’ Forum, Lower Range GB association, Bhandari Town Women Hoho, Yamhon Area Public Organisation (YAPO) and Bhandari Town Students’ Union. On June 30, CNTC also held another interactive meeting with Changpang Oil Field Owners in the presence of LLPRO, Lotha Hoho, Changpang Village Council members and members from Tssori Old on June 30. FIR filed against 2 Geology and Mining staff for violating govt. order

Dimapur, May 26 (EMN): The Wokha inspection team constituted to check toll gates caught two staff of the Geology and Mining department issuing transit pass at Sanis “O” point junction under Sanis sub-division, Wokha district without proper procedure and in contravention to government order and directives. An FIR was further was lodged by the inspection team at Sanis Police Station for proper investigation and further necessary action against the two staff — BenthungoTungoe and  Tensumanen Jamir — who were found in this connection. Accordingly, Sanis Police Station registered a case based and arrested the duo and seized INR 20900 collected from four vehicles along with blank challans and a register from their possession, Further Investigation is in progress, an update from SP (Crime) and PRO, Nagaland Police informed.
