From June 11 to June 19, there will be a number of events in and around the metro reminding people that June 19, 1865, commemorates enslaved people's emancipation in Texas.
With this being one of the first normal spring breaks in two years, organizers hope these events unite the community and provide an enjoyable experience for youth.
