MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) Last year amid the pandemic, gardening sales skyrocketed as people sought out colorful landscape to cure the COVID-19 blues and that trend continues this planting season.
“These last two years of course with more people staying at home, there seems to be a real up-tick in gussying up their yards. NEW ULM, Minn. (KEYC) â An iconic building once the social hub for live music and dancing, now in its deteriorating condition, is being considered for demolition. But the memories made inside will live on.
In 1947, George Neuwirth opened the ballroom, the âitâ place for concerts, parties and weddings, fueling New Ulmâs vibrant live music scene.
âReally it was an amusement center, it was more than just a bar. Originally it had a bar and it had a bowling alley. I happened to have bowled in that bowling alley years and years ago back in the 60s,â said Kathleen Bakcer, executive director at the Brown County Historical Society.
Nicollet Bike Shop offers advice amid pedaling season
Nicollet Bike Shop offers advice amid pedaling season By Bernadette Heier | April 1, 2021 at 7:32 PM CDT - Updated April 1 at 7:32 PM
MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - For those looking for a new bike this year, the time to buy is now.
“There’s a little bit shortage of bikes right now than normal so getting out and looking ASAP is a good plan,” said Nicollet Bike Shop Co Owner Justin Rinehart.
That’s thanks to the large nationwide demand for bikes last year amid the pandemic.
“With all the closures of everything last year, many people who normally work out in the gym or something indoors turned to outdoor recreation. So bikes, canoes, camping equipment all experienced the same surge of demand. Which wiped out inventory for anyone that makes anything and sells in this industry. As a result they are still trying to play catch up,” said Rineheart.
