(ASAA courtesy photo) Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Klawock High School girls basketball team advanced to the semifinals of the 2021 March Madness Alaska Basketball State Championships in the Matanuska-Susitna area on Thursday, while the Klawock boys team lost a tight game to fall into the consolation round. The Southeast Conference Klawock Lady Chieftains defeated the Alakanuk Lady Braves, from the Yukon Delta Conference, 56-19, while the Klawock Chieftains fell to the Shaktoolik Wolverines, from the Bering Sea Conference, 47-40. It was a great start to the tournament, Klawock coach Mary Edenshaw said. Good to get my young girls some experience. ....
