House gutted in Anggerek Desa | Borneo Bulletin Online

May 25, 2021 Izah Azahari A bungalow in Kampong Anggerek Desa, occupied by five permanent residents, was destroyed in a fire yesterday. Sixteen Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) personnel from the Berakas Fire Station rushed to the scene, assisted by personnel from the Women’s Operations Unit Fire Station and Beribi Fire Station. They were led by Station Officer Norhermi bin Md Nor. Firefighters acted in two teams by wearing respirators and extinguished the fire using three streams of hoses within 10 minutes. The owner of the house is a local, who rented the house to the permanent residents with Malaysian citizenship. All victims escaped safely before the firefighters arrived. Causes of fire and estimation of losses are under investigation. No casualties were reported.

May 13, 2021 Two fire marshals put out a fire at a boutique yesterday and spared The Airport Mall from further damage. Sixteen firefighters from Berakas Fire Station and Women Operation Unit Fire Station led by DSO Haji Noordin bin Haji Lias responded to the incident after receiving an emergency call at 10.05am, according the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD). They found the fire already put out by fire marshals. However, firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus still doused the area using a water hose and dry powder fire extinguisher as a precaution. More details on Friday’s Borneo Bulletin
