The just-sold property is located in Cleveland Park at
750 and 754 Douglas Ave. and includes a small building and a surface parking lot. It is located adjacent to the site of the planned mixed-use project Highland Yards.
Southern Grist has operated on the city’s east side in Eastwood at 1201 Porter Road since early 2016. It also has a presence at Stocking 51 in The Nations.
Kevin Antoon, Southern Grist s co-founder and CEO, said the future space is twice the size of the Porter Road building, allowing for an increased focus on food, two patio areas, distanced indoor seating and better parking. Locally based Mijo Gordito will be partnering with Southern Grist on the food concept.
