Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - A lawsuit against Juneau Police over a fatal shooting last December was dismissed earlier this month from U.S. District Court.
Attorney Ben Crittenden released a statement from Kevin and Virginia Stephens, the parents of the man killed in the shooting, Kelly Stephens. They filed a lawsuit stating that they were forced to do so because they were unable to get any information from the Juneau Police Department. It took a lawsuit for the Juneau Police Department to release information to the Stephens family and public. After reviewing information, although questions remain, the Stephens family finally had some closure and agreed to dismiss the case.
