Tonight with the Big Christmas tree sparkling bright and all the festive holiday decor, many Holiday Shoppers said they dont mind a frenzy of last minute shopping. Definitely a lot of traffic getting up here. I met a lot of families tonight who make shopping at union square an annual tradition to take in all the sites. I met one family who came all the way from australia and another shopper from the Sacramento Valley tells me she makes it a point to come here just before christmas. We are here for the crowds. It is fun, the excitement of it. The energy is fun. You dont get this kind of energy in sacramento. Reporter for those who were not busy shopping, many people took to the ice at the union square iceskating rink. A lot of families out there. I checked for most of the night tickets are sold out.
