to the violence that occurred here that day. we ve already seen this committee detail how donald trump pressured all aspects of the government to try to overturn the electoral results, the justice department, state officials, vice president mike pence. for tomorrow at the hearing they plan to show the oath keepers, and proud boys to take action and lead to the violence we saw in this building on january 6th. we will hear live testimony from one former member of the oath keepers, a former spokesperson, jason van patenhove someone he said had a lot of inside information, according to what he told a colorado tv station, said he had inside access to the oath keepers. we ll learn about that, and we ll also learn about a meeting that occurred mid-december, december 18th. jamie raskin, the congressman from maryland plans to lead the questioning tomorrow, says it will be a key focus of the hearing tomorrow. one of the things that people are going to learn is the fundamental importa
of lessons that they can learn from this experience? well, if mcauliffe wins, it s very unlikely that it s going to be by ten points, so it would be it would be a very narrow victory, and i think democrats would have to start asking themselves questions about whether running against trump is enough because because what youngkin would have done is to sort of walk that fine line that jeff and i have been talking about, agreeing with trump on some of the social and cultural issues without being bombastic. he looks like an establishment republican, right, and, you know, what kind of candidates are republicans going to start running perhaps in house races, et cetera, and i would be nervous if i were a democrat with a president at 40% popularity rating right now. i would go right back to capitol hill, and would i pass these measures and would start talking
i m talking about stylistically but you can t argue with success. if i was advising the president i think that would be my mantra. you can t argue with a record. the economy is doing well, he is making inroads in foreign policy that people have thrown their hands up for decades and said it s impossible in north korea and iran. he is having it with great success. i don t see any republican having the wherewithal both financially and ideologically to challenge this president. melissa: dave, i ve heard democrats say the exact same thing. that s their concern. that you may hate his style but he has a lot to point to in terms of results. i have to respectfully disagree with that. he is very good at being bombastic. he announced hastily the north korean summit before he canceled the summit. melissa: look where they are now. that looks like a smart move.
