welcome back, americans are gearing up for their fourth of july celebration, some heading to the beach trying to cool down from the recent excessive heat. 36 million people across the nation are under heat alerts today. areas in the south could see up to 110 degree temperatures. nbc s dana griffin is joining us from santa monica, california, and dana, it s not just the heat people are coing with. reporter: usually we like to say good morning from sunny, california, but as you can see it s a little overcast right now. we ve got a thick marine layer that s kind of blanketing this area. right now the temperatures are in the 60s. it s a little early, but we are seeing families here walking along the beach and running, as you can see. fourth of july is a huge celebration. it s a great time for people to

this is the second site that we stopped at. it s important to know looking at the map, which to note in last month s general election, warnock received 3 out of every 4 votes. this is the democratic corridor here. you have seen no lines of over five minutes at any site here in the heart of the lunchtime hour. so whour wh you re looking at this, compare it to the likes of last week. i was talking with a poll worker who told me at the site we just left that only 125 folks had passed through in the first 5 hours of the day. but she said at that site, in early voting, they had two and a half hour lines in early voting and thousands of folks were coming through here. we re seeing at this particular location a trickle of folks here throughout the day. and so that begs the question. how strong were the democrats numbers? early voting indicators suggested that the democrats have reason to be encouraged based off some of the the figures that were coing if from
history. a lot of of other very famous people, many of them heads of state, are coing in for monday s funeral. what new details are we learning ahead of monday? reporter: we re learning essentially there s going to be three funerals, three services. one of them is going to be behind me. not in westminster palace, but in westminster abbey across the street. the mourning of the funeral when all of this is done, the lying in state, her coffin will be transferred across the street in another massive ceremonial funeral cortege. after that, there will be a service for about 2,000 people, capacity at westminster abbey, which as you know, has in the past been host to major royal weddings. now the royal funeral, and after that the queen s coffin will be moved to windsor castle. that s out west. it s about an hour s drive from here. and that s where there will be
