Nearing completion, new signage for Memorial Stadium can be seen on the Beaumont Independent School District s football stadium. The signage came after a three-year long debate to change the name from the Carrol A. Butch Thomas Educational Support Center. Beaumont ISD’s board of trustees will again discuss renaming the district’s football stadium, almost three years after the last vote highlighted divisions in the Beaumont community.
The one line item in the district’s Tuesday meeting agenda says the board will “consider renaming the BISD Memorial Stadium Facility.”
