thank you. now it s time for across the uk, where today we ll have a special look at how some regions have been reporting election results morning. when it comes to the local elections, even before all the results are in there s no doubt it s been historic for labour in london. after decades of trying to break conservative stronghold boroughs of westminster, wandsworth and brent they ve won all three. it was a good result too for the lib dems and green party, as our correspondent, karl mercer can tell us. hugs and handshakes from their party leader this morning. barnet s labour party taking control of the council for the first ever. they did the same in westminster a council they d hoped to win but probably never dreamed they would. the barnet result, though, was dearest to the party leader s heart.
