Published April 9, 2021, 7:35 PM The door-to-door distribution of the national government’s financial assistance in Metro Manila and four adjacent provinces placed under the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) has always been allowed, a Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) official confirmed Friday, April 9. “Yes, we allowed the LGUs the discretion to determine the type and manner of distribution so they have more flexibility and can adjust fast to local conditions,” DILG Spokesperson Jonathan Malaya told the Manila Bulletin. These modes of distribution include door-to-door delivery of the “ayuda” or cash aid, which is seen as the most convenient and safest option for NCR-plus residents amid the health crisis.
