NA Chairman pays working trip to central Nghe An province
ABO/NDO – National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue attended a ceremony in central Nghe An province on April 11 where the Ministry of Health handed over a decision recognising the Nghe An General Friendship Hospital as an end-line hospital in medical checkup and treatment in the north central region.
Handing over the decision to the hospital, Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long said that as a tertiary referral hospital providing health check-up and treatment services, the Nghe An General Friendship Hospital will play a stronger role in the development of the health sector of Nghe An province in particular and the whole north central region in general.

Digital challenge forum launched to seek solutions to social issues
ABO/NDO - The Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) has launched the Vietnam digital technology challenge forum as part of the activities to introduce Vietnamese-made platforms to serve in driving national digital transformation.
It is the continuation of the programme entitled “Technology Friday” held throughout 2020, during which the MIC promoted 38 digital platforms which are as good as or even better than similar solutions provided by foreign companies.

With a new name and format, the programme is now takes the form of a forum where guests will be invited to express their opinions about the solutions presented at the event, in addition to the usual introduction of solutions by their developers.

Promoting the resource of overseas Vietnamese in national development
ABO/NDO – On the occasion of the 2021 Lunar New Year (Tet) festival, overseas Vietnamese people shared their thoughts and aspirations with Nhan Dan Newspaper, expressing their earnest desire to contribute strength and wisdom as well as join hands in building and developing the homeland.
According to Tran Thi Phuong Thao, a member of Executive Committee of the Vietnamese People Association in the Czech Republic, every year on the occasion of the Lunar New Year, the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic organises cultural exchange activities with the aim of preserving the national cultural identity, as well as helping the younger generation learn more about their origins.

Vietnam makes proposal on building 2021-2022 CLMV Action Plan
ABO/NDO – The 20th Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam Senior Economic Officials’ Meeting (CLMV SEOM) was held on January 25 via video conference, during which Vietnam suggested countries study and select the form of implementing projects suitable to the “new normal” in each country when compiling the CLMV Action Plan for 2021-2022.
Deputy head of the Asian-African Markets Department at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Nguyen Phuc Nam, who is head of the Vietnamese delegation, stressed the need to intensify the application of digital technology as well as the organisation of activities in the online format, while creating favourable conditions for experts, technicians, and project officials from development partners to carry out entry procedures, take COVID-19 tests, and undergo quarantine.
