Gov. Ron DeSantis boasted Monday that nearly 30% of Florida’s seniors now have been vaccinated against COVID-19, saying the state has moved aggressively to protect a vulnerable population. Yet even as Florida continues to make progress vaccinating seniors, there is lingering backlash among a subset of the elderly that is the most vulnerable of the vulnerable: those who live in elder care facilities.
