Ballantine Communications Inc., which owns The Durango Herald and The Journal in Southwest Colorado, announced Thursday that it has reached an agreement with Gannett Co. Inc. to purchase the Farmingto.
The Durango Herald won 29 press awards, including three sweepstakes awards, at the annual Colorado Press Association’s newspaper contest held Sept. 21-23 in Denver.
The Herald also won the general.
