The Zanzibar campus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has admitted its first batch of students, with approximately 50% of them being Indian and 40% being women, according to IIT Madras Director V Kamakoti. The campus offers a four-year Bachelor of Science degree in Data Science and AI and a two-year Master of Technology degree in Data Science and AI.
The UNWTO Secretary-General, Zurab Pololikashvil, has called for the introduction of tourism as a subject in schools and the establishment of more tourism academies and universities worldwide. He emphasized the need for countries, such as India, that are expanding their tourism sector to invest in tourism academies and hospitality schools.
