Do. well, they used a term of lawful contact. and they were intending that to mean contact in the enforcement of a law, a traffic stop pursuant to a belief that an individual is violating a traffic law or an arrest pursuant to a belief that a person has violated some other law. so they have clarified the language. typically we see what happens. we have to remember that this a facial challenge, meaning the law hasn t gone into the effect yet, yet the aclu and others are rushing to the courthouse. they re going challenge the law without any experience or facts. it s important the judge has clear language so others can t say here is what we think is going to happen. but kris, the problem is it doesn t seem like there are any facts on either side. you ve got the governor the other day essentially asked by a reporter what an illegal immigrant looks like, and she says i don t know what one looks like, but i m going to ask az post and they re going to put out a description. i asked the az

Enforcement. i will not tolerate racial discrimination or racial profiling in arizona. today i amish ewing an executive order directing the arizona peace officer standards and training board, az post to develop training to appropriately implement senate bill 270. importantly, this training will include what does and does not constitute reasonable suspicion that a person is not legally present in the united states. earlier today, at a naturalization ceremony for 24 active duty service members, the president called for comprehensive immigration reform and took the opportunity to critique the arizona bill. indeed our failure to act responsibly at the federal level will only open the door to irresponsibility by others. that includes for example the recent efforts in arizona which threaten to undermine basic
