A $50 million lawsuit says a police officer's 2022 murderous rampage could have been prevented if law enforcement ran background check before hiring him
A Virginia police officer's murderous rampage in 2022 could have been prevented if law enforcement saw he was not legally allowed to have a gun, according to $50 million lawsuit
The lawsuit says the Sheriff’s office should’ve uncovered that 28-year-old Austin Lee Edwards was barred from owning a gun by court order in 2016, and had spent time in a psychiatric facility.
