Old foundry land where a new Chattanooga Lookouts stadium is proposed should attract about $1 billion of housing, office and other commercial development with most happening in the next decade, an official said Thursday.
The owner of the 127-acre site that will hold the Chattanooga Lookouts new stadium is seeking a rezoning of the land that would allow buildings as high as 12 stories and more dense development around the facility.
A Chattanooga firm was picked Thursday as the executive architect for the proposed new South Broad District stadium, and an official with the company said plans are to incorporate the site’s rich foundry past.
A pair of architectural consultants, one specializing in designing ballparks and entertainment venues and another with expertise in reusing historic buildings, are joining the Chattanooga Lookouts stadium project.
