Crime by Kay Dibben Premium Content Subscriber only An Uber driver with the worst speeding history a magistrate has ever seen has been allowed to keep his licence, despite him creating fake identities to try to avoid paying speeding fines. Michael Lederman signed statutory declarations saying he was not the driver when he got speeding notices, instead claiming the car was driven by someone else, a court heard. Lederman had created four fake identities, claiming they were the drivers responsible for his nine speeding infringements and one for failing to stop at a red light.

Christopher David Howard, 42, pleaded guilty in Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Wednesday to a number of offences including unlawful supply of a category C/E weapon and driving with a drug present in his saliva. Howard’s lawyer Rian Dwyer told the court his client only offered to supply the weapon and that there was no actual supply involved.
