They all went to combat. reporter: brian was injured when he was serving. in rehab, he noticed something was missing. something i wore on my sleeve for 12 years every day, an american flag on my sleeve. i didn t wear it anymore. i missed it, and what i found, a beautiful wooden american flag, but it was made in another country. reporter: he had an idea. a company, with those three words. made in america still matters. what if we used american-made tools and supplies and materials? what if we could hire veterans? reporter: so he did. we travelled to ashburg, virginia. brian takes us to his shop. where we can hear his made in america idea coming to life. with his brother by his side, they create wooden american flags. each flag signed by a vet, including josh treadnik, who served in afghanistan. the reason i hire combat veterans, because i am a combat veteran. that camaraderie and brotherhood. reporter: they ve sold more than 8,000 flags, raising more than $300,000 for ch ....
Martin savidge in ohio. let s start in virginia with brian todd. good morning, brian. good morning, carol. the race in virginia seen as being aly t little bit tighteni. hillary clinton was ahead by a few points for several weeks but the race tightening. this county, loudoun county, seen as a real battleground, a test county for both candidates as they try to sew up the state virginia. very steady turnout here at precinct 817 at sanders corner elementary school here in ashburg, virginia. the lines here have been going out this door and toward the front door here. this is where you check in. you present your photo i.d. then a ballot ticket. you show it to these nice ladies over here it then you get one of these long ballots. you ve got very full voting stations here. they ve been full all morning. as we walk over here. our photo journalist will take you here. past these balloting stations. we love watching kids come out with their parents. a lot of kids have come out all day long to wa ....
Side door. police are still looking for these guys. an arizona high school teacher is out of a job because of a bumper sticker on her car. let me read it to you. here we go have you drugged your kid today ? tara ashburn says it s her way of protesting what she thinks is the overmedication of hyperactive children. she says a couple of parents started complaining about the sticker and when the school asked her to remove it, she refused and, thus, was fired. ashburg says the school violated her first amendment rights and she wants her job back. now to flood warnings. they have been issued now in several states across the midwest. chad myers is here. he s going to tell us where it s really the worst and what s going on with those fires. you ve seen the video out of florida. we ll be right back. ....
The movie strirngs dindustry, c michelle wright says it s paying off, attractsing tv productions. a dream, no last name required. reporter: after finishing college in atlanta, ashburg decided to stay. being from l.a. everyone kind of says, you re working backwards, aren t you? reporter: after opening a bough teak, producers started giving her business. with the tax credit being in place here in georgia, i had to re-evaluate my five-year plan. reporter: which meant more wardrobe gigs where tax credit recipients spend their dollars. the costume designer and the key customers would usually come into the store and sort of pick out items that helped develop their characters. reporter: across town the tax credit helped convince a major studio to set down roots. first impression was a complex on 30 acres that went to ....
