Meanwhile, it is gathered that at a review meeting chaired by the Cabinet Secretary on November 8, it was suggested to the Punjab government to consider an incentive scheme like Haryana for crop diversification so as to reduce the paddy coverage. It is learnt that the state government cited unavailability of funds as reason for its inability to do so.
