Sarah Townsend Garry Banks, who has led the multidisciplinary firm’s operations in the city as director for the past two decades, is handing over the reins to Andy Pennington while continuing to work for the company. Banks is standing down as office leader but will continue to serve as a director at Arup, focussing on growth of the building services team and providing expertise for clients across Liverpool City Region and beyond, according to a statement. He joined Arup in 1987 and has served as director of the Liverpool office for the past 20 years. Pennington is currently business leader of Arup’s science, industry and technology business in the North West and Yorkshire and has most recently led the team responsible for the design of The Spine, the office building in Liverpool’s Paddington Village due to complete this month. ....
