Congressional Armenian Caucus letter Calls for Overhaul of Section 907 Waiver Process; Immediate Termination of All U.S. Military or Security Aid to Azerbaijan
WASHINGTON Congressman David G. Valadao (R-CA) is leading the Armenian Caucus the most recent drive to freeze existing U.S. military assistance to Azerbaijan and block any future aid that contributes directly or indirectly to Azerbaijan’s military operations, activities, or capabilities, reported the Armenian National Committee of America.
In a memo circulated to Congressional colleagues on Wednesday, Armenian Caucus leaders noted, “Azerbaijan’s attack on Armenians living Nagorno-Karabakh last fall, the continued detention of Armenian prisoners of war six months after the conflict, and other destabilizing actions in the region are inconsistent with the provisions of the Section 907 waiver and demonstrate the need for significant changes to the Administr
