Canadian Armed Forces Conduct Training and provide support to NATO missions
Operation IMPACT is the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) mission to build the military capabilities of Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon.
On 30 March 2021, the Government of Canada announced the extension of Operation IMPACT until 31 March 2022. Under the renewal, the CAF is maintaining its presence in the Middle East to continue enhancing security and stability in the region.
Op IMPACT is ongoing, with our Joint Task Force IMPACT headquarters continuing to operate in Kuwait, and two CC-130J Hercules aircraft conducting theatre sustainment and movement. Personnel on capacity-building operations in Lebanon and Jordan have remained in country and have continued to perform activities that can safely be conducted while respecting both host nation and Canadian Armed Forces health protection measures.
