A 24-year-old man who racially abused Brentford striker Ivan Toney on social media has been banned from every football stadium in the UK.
Antonio Neill of Blyth, Northumberland was handed a four-month suspended sentence at a Newcastle court on Monday as well as being given a three-year football banning order. That ruling is the first to be issued under the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022.
The banning order means Neill cannot attend matches in the top five tiers of English football, as well as England home and away matches.
The 2022 legislation allowed banning orders to be issued.
