Fundraiser Set Up For Family Of Santa Clarita Motorcycle Deputy Struck By Big Rig
A GoFundMe has been set up for the family of Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station Deputy Chad Perrigo, who is in the hospital recovering from severe injuries after being hit by a big rig Tuesday, according to the fundraiser description.
The fundraiser is set to go towards Perrigo’s wife and three boys after an accident Tuesday morning in Valencia left him with “serious injuries,” according to representatives with the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Department
“Chad has been a member of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for nine years, with the past 2 years spent as a motor deputy at Santa Clarita Valley Station,” read a description on the GoFundMe page. “He is not only a beloved member of the station’s motor team, but also a devoted husband and father to three young boys.”
5 Freeway Motorcycle Crash North Of Santa Clarita Sends One Person To The Hospital
A 5 freeway motorcycle crash just north of Santa Clarita sent one person to the hospital Thursday, temporarily blocking lanes, officials said.
At around 5 p.m. Thursday, emergency responders received reports of a traffic collision near the I-5 and Cherry Canyon just north of Templin Highway, according to officials with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
A motorcycle slid into the right shoulder of the 5 Freeway, according to reports from the California Highway Patrol.
One person was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition, according to Fire officials.
