Florida State Moves Up To No. 24 In Rankings

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State women’s tennis team (16-10, 8-7 ACC) moved up to No. 24 in the latest ITA rankings released Tuesday. The Seminoles are climbing up in the rankings after winning six of their last seven matches, including a 4-0 win against Louisville in the second round of the ACC Championships. The victory against Louisville helped Florida State advance to the quarterfinal round of the ACC Tournament for the 26th time in school history. Florida State’s 16 wins this season include six ranked wins victories and two victories over top-20 opponents. Senior Vic Allen boasts a team-high 14 wins in the spring and is ranked No. 73 in the nation. Junior Anna Arkadianou has won two consecutive matches, including a victory over the 24th-ranked singles player in America, and is 64th in singles. Arkadianou and freshman Millie Bissett, who are 8-2 as a pair in dual matches, are ranked 52nd in doubles. Florida State will find out its NCAA Tournament destination Monday. The Women�

Florida State Travels For ACC Championships

ACC Championships Information TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State women’s tennis team (15-9, 7-6 ACC) travels to Cary, North Carolina, for the ACC Championship beginning this Thursday. The Seminoles enter this week ranked 25th in the national team rankings and are the No. 6 seed in the ACC Tournament. Florida State has a 35-29 record in the ACC Championship and has made three finals appearances. The Seminoles look to keep up their excellent play as they have won five straight matches, including two top-25 victories. Senior Vic Allen leads the team with 14 wins in the spring and is ranked No. 79 in the nation. Anna Arkadianou is coming off a big 6-2, 6-2 win against the 24th-ranked Kylie Bilchev of Georgia Tech. Arkadianou is ranked 59th in singles and 55th in doubles with freshman Millie Bissett. Ellie Schoppe is ranked No. 123 in singles and has three wins against nationally-ranked opponents this spring. Seminole Student-Athletes Honored At Golden Nole Ceremony

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Madelyne Anderson of the Beach Volleyball team, and football’s Jordan Travis were named as the Florida State Athletes of the Year at the 29th Annual Golden Nole Awards celebration at the Ruby Diamond Auditorium on the Florida State campus.  Anderson, a redshirt junior, has led the Seminoles to a No 4 national ranking this season and was named a First Team All-American in leading Florida State to the national finals in 2022.  Travis, a redshirt senior, earned Second Team All-ACC Honors in leading the Seminoles to a 10-3 record and a victory in in the Cheez-It Bowl over Oklahoma during the 2022 season.  The event, which is sponsored by Florida State’s Student-Athlete Development Office, has recognized those Seminoles who excel as members of the community and who have committed themselves to taking leadership roles on and off of their playing fields and courts.  The red carpet event is hosted by the Student Athlete Advisory Committee – a group of 40 FSU stu

Florida State Travels For Final Regular Season Matches

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State women’s tennis team (13-9, 5-6 ACC) has its two final matches of the regular season this weekend, traveling to No. 20 Georgia Tech on Friday and No. 37 Clemson on Sunday. The Seminoles enter this weekend’s matches ranked 33rd in the national team rankings. Senior Vic Allen defeated the 109th-ranked Andrea Di Palma of Louisville 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. Allen is ranked No. 76 in the national singles rankings. Allen and Ellie Schoppe also won 6-1 against FAMU at No. 1 doubles. Schoppe is ranked 118th in singles, along with Anna Arkadianou who is now ranked 83rd in the nation. Arkadianou and freshman Millie Bissett are also ranked No. 55 in doubles. TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State women’s tennis team has two ACC matches this weekend, traveling to North Carolina on Friday and Duke on Saturday. The Seminoles are 10-7 on the season and enter this weekend’s matches ranked 38th in the national team rankings. Florida State’s Alice Amendola is coming off a 2-0 weekend. Amendola won 6-2, 7-5 against Virginia Tech and 6-1, 7-6 against Virginia, both at No. 6 singles. Senior Vic Allen defeated the No. 43rd ranked Julia Adams of Virginia 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Allen is ranked No. 108th in the national singles rankings. Florida State’s Ellie Schoppe secured a victory against the 89th-ranked Hibah Shaikh of Virginia 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3 singles.
