Veteran LPD lieutenant who was placed on leave retires from force

LIMA Andy Green, a 20-year veteran of the Lima Police Department, has submitted an official notification of his immediate retirement from the police force. Green had been on paid administrative leave since late October for unspecified reasons.
In a letter to LPD Chief Kevin Martin dated Feb. 5, Green wrote, “I hereby submit my official retirement from the City of Lima, Lima Police Department, effective February 8, 2021.
“I have enjoyed working for the Lima Police Department and serving the citizens of Lima, Ohio for the past 22 years. I will miss the joy I found in helping to better the City of Lima, and all those who live and work there. I wish the best to those who continue to serve the City and have the upmost respect for them and the difficult job that they perform daily. Lima will always be home to me, no matter where I
