An attorney for Lyoya's family says he doesn't see a conflict in the contribution. Some other Grand Rapids community leaders want the prosecutor to recuse himself.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Police identified John Paul Hernandez, 33, of Grand Rapids, as the pedestrian who was struck and killed by a hit-and-run vehicle.
The crash was reported at 2:53 a.m. Saturday, May 8, on 28th Street SE near Union Avenue. Hernandez was crossing the street when he was struck by a westbound vehicle that fled the scene, Grand Rapids police said.
The victim was found unconscious in the center turn lane on 28th Street. Rescuers provided medical help but the man died at the scene.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. â A driver is hospitalized in critical condition after the station wagon he was piloting struck a house early Sunday morning.
At 3:41 a.m. Sunday, the Grand Rapids Police Department and medical personnel responded to a report of a traffic crash with injuries at Fuller Avenue and Watkins Street SE. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered that a Volkswagen Passat had struck a telephone pole and then a residence.
