reporter: but this time around he s fueled by new hope in the form of a new angle he says police are working along with the reward that has jumped up to $45,000 for information leading to matt s killer. i would still love to strangle them the same today as i would nine years. reporter: matt was shot in rob bro after he flagged down and got in a dark blue chevy impala with new jersey plates to get jumper cables for friend s car. police never found those three men. matt s godfather is a detective is south jersey helping with the case. it pains me to watch my family in pain. obviously the at the same time frustrates me that professiona professionally, um, i want to do more. i m hitting dead ends and of course it s not my investigati investigation. it s philly homicide s i m assisting them as much as i can. the family hopes this plea for justice finally makes all the difference. it s happy and sad when i see other folks with their families, you know, i feel happy but
