The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) said it seized cash and froze bank balances and fixed deposits of a total worth of Rs 30 crore in raids at 22 locations linked to builder Lalit Tekchandani and his other associates in a money laundering case.
A resident of Model Gram in Ludhiana has been booked for cheating and forgery based on a complaint by the sub-divisional magistrate (West) Harjinder Singh Bedi. The accused allegedly forged a property document and sold it for Rs 60 lakh with the help of unidentified employees of the revenue office. The police are investigating if any employee of the revenue department was involved in the forgery.
A woman allegedly forged her husband’s will after he died and grabbed a property worth crores of rupees with the help of two aides. The Meharban police have booked them for cheating, forgery, and criminal conspiracy.
This is the third case in which Wadhwani has been arrested. Deputy commissioner of police (EOW) Sangramsingh Nishandar said that on Tuesday, the police registered an FIR at Amboli police station in Andheri and arrested Amit and Vicky under the IPC sections of cheating, forgery and criminal breach of trust.
