The murder trial of NT police officer Constable Zachary Rolfe will be heard in Darwin, not Alice Springs, a Supreme Court judge has ruled.

Yuendumu is about 1,600 kilometres south of Darwin and close to 300 kilometres north-west of Alice Springs
Members of the Yuendumu community said they respected the decision to move the trial from Alice Springs to Darwin
The trial has been set for July next year, and is expected to run for around five weeks
