Alan VanDoren was sworn in to Place 2 on the Kilgore City Council at their recent regular meeting. Many of VanDoren s friends and family were in attendance and his wife Debbie stood alongside him as he recited the oath of office.
Kilgore Mayor Ronnie Spradlin has confirmed to KNH that Kilgore City Council voted to appoint local citizen and longtime downtown business owner Alan VanDoren to council Place 2, the seat formerly occupied by long-serving council member and Mayor Pro Tem Harvey McClendon, who retired from city service in July after 16 years on the council.
