Suspended Afenifere's National Publicity Secretary, Mr Jare Ajayi, has alleged that he and the National Organising Secretary were not given the opportunity to defend themselves on whatever allegations the group leaders deemed they breached. Recall that Afenifere leader Pa Ayo Adebanjo and other group leaders sacked its National Publicity Secretary, Jare Ajayi, and National Organising Secretary, Abagun Kole Omololu, for making unauthorised statements in the group's name and constant denigration of the organisation.
Pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to order the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele, to supply commercial banks across the country with the old and new Naira notes to end the lingering Naira scarcity in the country. Afenifere expressed concerns over the scarcity of naira notes despite the comments made by the president last week that he was not against the implementation of the Supreme Court order.
The Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, has said that the statement by Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari on “negotiating with terrorists” showed that the government has now admitted its failure. Afenifere in a statement late on Monday described Garba Shehu's claims that terrorists "deceived" the government into releasing his wife and children without releasing victims of the Abuja-Kaduna train as "very unfortunate and an admission of failure."
