Beverlie Anne Cole, age 93, of Johnstown, passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Amsterdam.
Born on April 19, 1928, in Keck Center, NY, she was the daughter of the late Harry Judson Pitts and Mildred Pearl Hammond Pitts.
Beverlie graduated from Hudson Valley Community College, Clown College and was a professional clown. She was a certified grief counselor. Beverlie led many home Bible studies, was a youth leader, and taught Sunday school in several churches. She was a founding member and active in the Adirondack Baptist Church. Beverlie was instrumental in starting the local Christian Woman’s Club International. She went on to graduate from cosmetology school in 1962, and operated Bev’s Beauty Shoppe from 1963 until 1975. Beverlie also operated Bamapak, a healthcare equipment company from 1978 until 1988.
