The two female students of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ayetoro Campus, Ogun State, who were kidnapped on Sunday night, have regained freedom.
The students, Adeyemo Precious and Oyefule Abiola studying Forestry and Wildlife Management and Agricultural Economics respectively were abducted about 9 pm on Sunday when the attackers stormed Igbole Aibo Quarter area of Ayetoro, in Yewa North Local Government Area of State.
Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, confirmed their release on Tuesday night.
Confirming the release of the students, the governor said, “This is to announce that we have secured the release of Precious Adeyemo and Abiola Oyefule – both OOU students recently kidnapped in Ayetoro. ....

The two female students of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) Ayetoro Campus kidnapped on Sunday night have regained their freedom.
Confirming this was the Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Police through its Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi on Wednesday.
According to the Ogun Police Command spokesman, the two released abductees, Adeyemo Precious and Oyefule Abiola are currently in the protective custody of the Police, and will soon be reunited with their families.
The two students were released on Tuesday night.
It will be recalled that the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, had earlier today directed the security agencies to fish out the perpetrators of the kidnapping of the two students and as well ensure that the victims come out unhurt. ....

Ogun Police Confirm Abduction of Two Female Students of OOU


The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the kidnap of two female students of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) by unknown gunmen.
The spokesperson of the state police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the victims, identified as Adeyemo Precious and Oyefule Abiola, were of Department of Forestry and Wildlife Management, and Department of Agricultural Economics, respectively
He said they were kidnapped while returning to their halls of residence located at Olowu area in Ayetoro campus of the institution, Yewa North Local Government Area of the state on Sunday evening.
He stated that a manhunt led by the area commander, in conjunction with local hunters, had been launched to rescue the victims unhurt and reunite with their families. ....

The Ogun State Police Command on Monday said it launched a manhunt for the kidnappers of two female students of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ayetoro campus, in the Yewa-North Local Government Area of Ogun state.
The victims Adeyemo Precious and Oyefule Abiola who were students of the Departments of Forestry and Wildlife Management, and Agricultural Economics, respectively, were abducted in front of their hostel on Sunday in the Olowu area of Ayetoro.
A source said the abductors reached out to the victims’ families and demanded N50m ransom.
When asked if the abductors were herdsmen or not, the source said it was the kidnapped students that spoke to their families and not the abductors. ....
