we have this area of high pressure that is set up. that spins clockwise. and it pumps in more of a southerly wind so we re just raking in the heat all acrosss south. and then we have a ridge that sits over the plains and down through the southeast. that is part of the reason why we re dealing with the severe weather. the storms ride right along that boundar boundary line, that swath of wind above our heads that gives the threat of severe weather and cools down the plains and right up into the ohio valley and into the northeast. unfortunately, we bear the brunt here in the southwest and back down into florida and that is the case all the way into next week. and in fact, even warmer weather expected into next week. victor and era. we re in for the long haul. britney, thank you. next hour of cnn starts right now.
